The komodo dragon sports a mouth filled with nearly 60 serrated teeth, each a centimeter long! It is highly likely that a komodo’s prey will die immediately as a result of the attack.
However, it’s possible that an animal could survive the attack…but not for long. A komodo’s saliva contains somewhere between 50 and 80 different kinds of bacteria – which enter directly into the prey’s bloodstream after it is bitten!
