Amazingly, he was eventually able to pitch at the Major League level, having since been one of the most dominant closers in all of baseball. He has even topped out at a maximum pitch velocity of 101 miles per hour - one of the highest throwing speeds ever achieved!
He also recently became the all-time leader in strikeouts by a left-handed reliever.
