Less than a couple years after moving to Berlin in 1914 (where Einstein’s cousin Elsa lived), Albert and his wife Mileva had a fight that resulted in him moving out. In 1916, Einstein requested a divorce, which caused Mileva to have a nervous breakdown.
During the separation, he moved in with his cousin, and they were finally able to marry in the summer of 1919 – less than four months after Albert’s divorce from his first wife!
